> Larry and His Dog ~ Fulton, Texas Larry was a fixture for many years scootering around the Fulton Harbor with his cool little dog. He ran for mayor, but lots - which is too bad - because he could have brought some color to the court. Scooter on Larry!

> Castell Cowgirl | Castell, Texas Castell is a very small town in Central Texas known for the Llano River, the Castell General Store, cold beer, great barbeque, the Testicle Festival, bluebonnets - and - "Cockaroo", the famous Rooster known for fornicating with Billy the Bass - for real, and It's quite a show. Some pretty wild people show up in Castell too - like this Texas mamma with the AR-15 slung over her shoulder (unloaded - we made sure). Butt the way she swung that gun around was sure enough make you duck. And to add to the entertainment, along comes this jacked up Power Wagon (accompanying next photo) with a bunch of beer guzzling yahoos on board- and now the fun really gets started.

Las Bonitas de Boquillas | Boquillas, Mexico ........ Boquillas is a small village across the Rio Grande river in Big Bend. For years tourists have crossed the river in small aluminum boats to visit the other side. Once across, you can ride burros or jump in the back of a pickup to be carried up to the village. It is a great place to enjoy cerveza and tacos and visit with the people. These three "chamacas" were street vendors. They were shy and reserved when I asked if I could take their picture; they pretty darned serious. But when I removed my cap and showed them that I was "pelado", ie. bald - they burst out laughing and I caught the photo. I returned to Boquillas many years later with a framed copy of this photo and I believe it still hangs in Jose Falcon's restaurant - to the delight of these women and their children.
